About Pico-Pico Maçarico

The ambiance at Pico-Pico Maçarico strikes a balance between casual comfort and understated charm, inviting diners to linger without rush. Scattered conversations and soft lighting create a cozy backdrop, though some moments suggest a buzz that borders on slightly hectic during peak hours. The staff demonstrate attentiveness but occasionally waver under the pressure of a full house, an observation often noted in other Pico-Pico Maçarico reviews. The interplay between atmosphere and service shapes much of the dining experience, hinting at a place that thrives on its loyal local clientele.

A glance at the Pico-Pico Maçarico menu reveals a mix of traditional Portuguese influences marked by thoughtful experimentation. Dishes such as grilled seafood and roasted meats showcase fresh ingredients prepared with care, yet not all items manage to impress equally — a couple of choices lean toward the pedestrian or over-salted. Photos of signature plates circulating online highlight the restaurant’s effort to present visually appealing dishes, though the reality may vary slightly upon arrival. Value for money here reflects the quality and portion sizes, which align reasonably well but do invite occasional debate among visitors accustomed to more polished culinary presentations.

Ending a meal at this restaurant often leaves a layered impression; the friendly, occasionally bustling nature of the dining space contrasts with moments of well-executed flavors that stand out. The surrounding streets contribute to a relaxed environment, without overshadowing the core purpose of the visit. Examining Pico-Pico Maçarico + restaurant feedback available through various forums suggests a venue appreciated for its sincerity and local character, even if perfection remains elusive. Its appeal might resonate most with those seeking authenticity over haute cuisine flair.

We had the best meals at this place. We could taste and feel the chef's love and passion in all the dishes. Salmon with passion fruit sauce was next level! Thanks for having us. Lovely couple too.

Coming from Lisbon by autocaravana in a one week trip this was the best meal in Portugal so far. Service was a little awkward. What let us uncomfortable is that I asked for a table and the attendant looked very confused, like frozen. I then asked if it was open or was only under reservation and she then said no, choose any table. Then a guy dropped the menu and left. Then when he passed by again in a hurry I asked him about the day special and there was none. Then later another person came by and told us as they would be in holiday from next day hence there was unavailable dishes which was like 1/4 of the menu. There was also no salad plate available. It is a little pricey but the food is perfect so quality has to be priced.

Had lunch here today. Soup and Cordon Bleau. Food is nice. Not cheap. Good service. Nice decor. I recommend this place. It seems to be very popular with the locals.

If you haven’t been here yet… GO!! This family owned and run gem has DELICIOUS, soul nurturing food. I usually get the Prato do dia. It’s always fabulous!! My favorite is the lemon risotto with the yummiest white fish on top. Tonight however I’m having the black risotto with salmon. Oh my gosh! It’s SO GOOD!! Of course I follow this with dessert and coffee. My favorite dessert is the banana and cream pie with just the right amount of caramel and the CRUST!! Yum!! If you can’t tell, I eat here a lot. Don’t miss this delightful experience. Get here early because seats fill fast.

Different from the run-of-the-mill. Instead of the typical food, these folks serve limited but very nice daily specials. I had the estufado, braised beef tips that are really nicly seasoned, with a nice vegetable couscous.

Best place in viana to have lunch. Seemless blend of casual with a hint of luxury, and food is on point.
